Cedar Bay Farm Owners Behind The Outdoor Bar

Meet the Owners: Ben and Kelly Woodall

Ben and Kelly Woodall are the heart and soul of Cedar Bay Farm. With an extensive background in design, they bring a wealth of experience and passion to the farm. The Woodalls have always had a shared love for creating memorable experiences, which is evident in every aspect of Cedar Bay Farm. When they embarked on the renovation journey in 2020, their goal was clear: to transform the historic property into a premier wedding venue while preserving its unique character and natural beauty.

Their commitment to excellence and attention to detail are reflected in every corner of Cedar Bay Farm. From the beautifully restored barn to the meticulous design packages, Ben and Kelly have created a space that feels welcoming to couples and families.

The name “Cedar” was derived from the previous name given to Lebanon, “Cedar City”. The “bay” portion of the property’s name was derived from Ben & Kelly’s time living in the Chesapeake Bay area where Kelly grew up. Once married, the couple moved to the Virginia side of Chesapeake Bay. So living by the “bay” was a big part of this newly established Ohio venue’s history.

How I met the Woodalls

My friendship began with the Woodalls shortly after they moved to my neighborhood from Virginia, and before they purchased what would soon become Cedar Bay Farm. Kelly and I would walk the Lebanon bike trail several times per week. She is a nurse, I have a background in marketing, web design and interior photography. Soon after the farm was purchased, Kelly asked that I help them document their progress by taking “before” photos of the property. Eventually, this friendship turned into a wedding photography business. So I have the Woodalls to thank for inspiring Linen & Elm Photography!

The History of Cedar Bay Farm

Established in 1855, the original black barn is the showpiece of Cedar Bay Farm. While Ben and Kelly have added significant function and square footage to the property (including designer lighting and fans, glass doors, windows, new flooring, a kitchen, plumbing, ample parking and bathrooms) they’ve successfully retained the original layout and charm of the historic barn.
